PTSD Patrol honoring your feelings

PTSD Patrol

Sometimes we have to honor our pain and loneliness. That is why I picked Neil Diamond I AM I SAID for the feature video today.
There was a report on military suicides being 20% higher than last year. That was like a dagger to my heart because I dedicated 38 years of my life to that cause. With all the nonsense getting the attention online, they couldn't find me anymore, so I thought as a 10 time civilian survivor, I may be of more use to regular people like me. With over 8 million Americans diagnosed with PTSD, they are getting less attention than the veterans. Right now, I am taking my own advise and honoring my feelings to go toward healing afterwards. #BreakTheSilence and #TakeBackYourLife from #PTSD

But I got an emptiness deep inside
And I've tried
But it won't let me go
And I'm not a man who likes to swear
But I never cared
For the sound of being alone

I AM I SAID

L.A.'s fine, the sun shines most the time
And the feeling is "lay back"
Palm trees grow and rents are low
But you know I keep thinkin' about
Making my way back
Well I'm New York City born and raised
But nowadays
I'm lost between two shores
L.A.'s fine, but it ain't home
New York's home
But it ain't mine no more
"I am"... I said
To no one there
And no one heard at all
Not even the chair
"I am"... I cried
"I am"... said I
And I am lost and I can't
Even say why
Leavin' me lonely still
Did you ever read about a frog
Who dreamed of bein' a king
And then became one
Well except for the names
And a few other changes
If you talk about me
The story is the same one
But I got an emptiness deep inside
And I've tried
But it won't let me go
And I'm not a man who likes to swear
But I never cared
For the sound of being alone
"I am"... I said
To no one there
And no one heard at all
Not even the chair
"I am"... I cried
"I am"... said I
And I am lost and I can't
Even say why
"I am"... I said
"I am"... I cried
"I am"

PTSD Patrol Long Train Running

(Feeling better and should be doing videos again tomorrow)

My husband and I have been married 36 years as of this month. Throughout all of the years, there is one thing that never stopped...and that is love for one another. Sometimes I don't like him and times he does not like me, but we never stopped loving.

Keep in mind that when we met, I knew what surviving trauma was like, but did not know about PTSD. By the time we got married, I knew all I needed to know and loved him even more than before. If you love someone, then you do whatever you can to help make their life easier and better because you were in it. If you really love them, then do the work to help them be happier!

The song Long Train Running kept popping into my medicated brain because "without love where would you be now" is a question I never want to answer......

The Doobie Brothers - Long Train Running (official video)

Down around the corner, half a mile from here
See them long trains run, and you watch them disappear
Without love, where would you be now
Without lo-o-o-ove
You know I saw miss Lucy down along the tracks
She lost her home and her family and she won't be coming back
Without love, where would you be right now
Without lo-o-o-ove
Well the Illinois Central
And the Southern Central Freight
Got to keep on pushin' mama
You know they're running late
Without love, where would you be now
Without lo-o-o-ve
Well the Illinois Central
And the Southern Central Freight
Got to keep on pushin' mama
You know they're running late
Without love, where would you be now
Without lo-o-o-ve
Well the pistons keep on turning
And the wheels go round and round
The steel rails are cold and hard
For the miles that they go down
Without love, where would you be right now
Without lo-o-o-ve ooh
Where would you be now
Mmm, got to get you, baby baby, won't you move it down?
Won't you move it down?
Baby, baby, baby, baby, won't you move it down?
When the big train run
When the train is movin' on I got to keep on movin'
Keep on movin'
Won't you keep on movin'?
Gonna keep on movin'

PTSD Patrol "But too easy to say no"

PTSD Patrol

September 23, 2020

These are troubling times in this country. It makes it worse if you are struggling to heal PTSD. People can be very cruel no matter what you do. They misjudge you, walk away from you and blame you for what is lousy in their own lives.

It does not change because decades do. What does change is those who refuse to learn from the past, will forever be relegated to ranks of other feeble minded fools throughout history. In other words, the problem is not yours....it belongs to them.

Sometimes we find comfort knowing someone else understands what we are going through. It is just as necessary as knowing we can get out of the dark times too.

If you are on social media, and feel worse being with people you know, stop going into those groups.

Notice what they say and how they treat others, because that is how they show their true self.

Then break free from them because they will suck the life and joy out of you, wasting your time when you could be finding someone to give you hope again...and help you #BreakTheSilence and #TakeBackYourLife from #PTSD

(Yes, still sick but feeling better.)

Easy To Be Hard
Three Dog Night

How can people be so heartless
How can people be so cruel
Easy to be hard
Easy to be cold
How can people have no feelings
How can they ignore their friends
Easy to be proud
Easy to say no
Especially people who care about strangers
Who care about evil and social injustice
Do you only care about being proud
How about I need a friend, I need a friend
How can people be so heartless
You know I'm hung up on you
Easy to be proud
Easy to say no
Especially people who care about strangers
Who care about evil and social injustice
Do you only care about being proud
How about I need a friend, I need a friend
How can people be so heartless
How can people be so cruel
Easy to be proud, easy to say no
Easy to be gone, easy to say no
Come on, easy to get read
Easy to say no
But too easy to be cold
Easy to say no
But too easy to say no
