I have a problem with the "fix you" part

Today the feature song is Coldplay, Fix You. It is about when you want to help someone who is hurting. The lyrics are beautiful but I have a problem with the "fix you" part.

People tired to "fix me" after I survived multiple times. For a long time, I thought that love would "fix me" and people in my life thought they could. They tried to fix me after my ex-husband tried to kill me. Then I realized, I was the only one who could "fix me" and change.

That is how I knew my husband didn't need fixing. He needed support and for me to stand by him, encourage him and try to find the help he needed to fix his life.

I've seen PTSD from both sides and trust me, when you love someone, you are in the best position possible to help them heal. Love alone cannot do it, but your time, patience, support, encouragement and being willing to fight for them, can give them what they need to start fighting for themselves too.

Those who do, are rewarded knowing that the person they love, is healing, happier and it is because of you!

If you have PTSD, remember, it is your life...get in and drive it! If you love someone with it, then help them do it!

Fix You
Coldplay

When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something, you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try, you'll never know
Just what you're worth
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Tears stream down your face
When you lose something, you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face and I
Tears stream down your face
I promise you, I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face and I
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
